Caputo's was established in 1904, and is a staple in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn. Most are probably not aware, but their bread is served throughout the city, by some of your favorite restaurants and delis all over New York.
As soon as you set foot in the cozy storefront you are surrounded by everything from classic Italian pastries to loaves of fresh baguettes stacked along the window. They're known for their delicious baked goods and friendly customer service, and less about the decor. The interior is a no frills bare bones shop, and that's okay because their breads and rainbow cookies are some of the best you will ever taste.
